Set Public Hearing For <br /> CONTINUED TO <br /> FILE NUMBER <br /> Cam' ~ <br /> CITY MANAGER <br /> RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute an agreement with Rancho Santiago <br /> Community College District to provide registration and class materials for the jail inmates enrolled in <br /> Distance Learning Classes in an annual amount not to exceed $25,000 subject to non-substantive <br /> changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br /> <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> <br /> On February 5, 2007, Council approved the agreement with Ranch Santiago Community College <br /> District to provide educational classes for inmates. One of the programs offered by the jail is an <br /> opportunity for the inmates to obtain an Associate of Arts Degree with Santa Ana College. The Santa <br /> Ana Police Department is requesting to renew the agreement to provide for an additional year of <br /> services. <br /> FISCAL IMPACT <br /> <br /> Funds are available in the Police Department's Inmate Welfare Account (account no. 02314475- <br /> 62300). <br /> <br /> <br /> APPROVED AS TO FUNDS AND ACCOUNTS: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Paul M.
