Public Comments (for items not on the agenda) <br />No public comments were made. <br />STAFF AND COMMISSION COMMENTS <br />3. Staff Comments <br />Ms. Haluza commented on the City Council Workshop held on June 24 at the <br />Bowers Museum facilitated by Steve Pon Tell, consultant with the La Jolla <br />Institute. The City Council reviewed policy and vision direction regarding <br />development issues. A comprehensive report to implement a strategy will be <br />forthcoming to the Planning Commission. At that time, Mr. Trevino offered to <br />entertain questions from the Commission. <br />4. Planning Commission Comments <br />Commissioner De La Torre <br />• No comments <br />Commissioner Cribb <br />• Requested removal of a dying Palm tree at Pacific Center off Grand Avenue <br />and St. Andrews Street. <br />• Commented that someone is living in a parked black van at 2511 N. Valencia <br />(east side). Vehicle was parked on the street, license number 010MML. <br />• Park Santiago neighborhood residents noticed that City did not close the park <br />gates on Sunday, June 26. Submitted notification to CDA - Regan <br />Candelario to have gates closed. <br />• Commented that the Planning Commission would like to have input on <br />consultant selection. <br />• Commented that annexation of Tustin Island should be reconsidered. Mr. <br />Trevino provided background information on annexation. <br />• Requested removal of couch left on sidewalk at Imperial Promenade on south <br />side of street by MacArthur Blvd. <br />• Requested status of Bagel Me, South Coast Winery in Bombay Bicycle Club <br />and Starbucks projects. <br />Commissioner Leo <br />• Inquired about timeline for City Place tower. Mr. Trevino and Mr. Kaufman <br />responded with current status. <br />• Inquired if developers submitted plans for Farmers Site? Is it gated? Mr. <br />Trevino provided information. <br />• Inquired if City Council considered WIFI (wireless Internet access) in <br />downtown. Mr. Kaufman provided update on City Council technology <br />committee discussions. <br />• Inquired about pending cases involving the City from Supreme Court.
