Planning Manager Trevino stated that Commissioner packets will be delivered a <br />week early in order to give the Commission additional time to review the Nexus <br />project scheduled for public hearing on May 23, 2005. <br />4. Planning Commission Comments <br />Commissioner De La Torre <br />• Commented on CIP process. <br />Commissioner Cribb <br />• Stated that landscaping on MacArthur Boulevard between South Main and <br />Bristol could be enhanced and that it appears that there are opportunities <br />for infill planting. <br />• Commented that bands performing on the 2"d Street Promenade in the <br />Artists Village play loud enough to be heard inside nearby theatres, such <br />as Rude Guerilla, disrupting performances. Officer Mike McCoy <br />responded that he can monitor noise and inform the theatres by including <br />them in the petition he circulates as part of the permitting process for <br />outdoor entertainment. <br />• Requested update on Geneva Commons project. Planning Manager <br />Trevino provided information. <br />• Requested status on Bowers Museum expansion project. Planning <br />Manager Trevino provided information. <br />• Commented on the landscape and planter at northeast corner of Bristol <br />and MacArthur that is very effective and could be used at other <br />intersections. <br />Vice Chair Leo <br />• Requested compliance update on Original Mike's restaurant. Staff <br />provided information. <br />• Commented on OCTA studying 57 Freeway extension along riverbed in <br />conjunction with City of Orange regarding 22/241 freeways. <br />• Requested update on construction of improvements in street on Broadway <br />north of 17th Street. Staff will provide update. <br />• Requested update on One Broadway Plaza. Chief Assistant City Attorney <br />Kaufman provided information. <br />• Inquired about Crazy Horse site signage regarding upcoming projects. <br />Planning Manager Trevino provided information. <br />• Inquired as to the business success of the Starbucks on Fourth and <br />Broadway. Planning Manager Trevino provided information. <br />• Commissioner would like to encourage City Council to expeditiously <br />process the General Plan. <br />Commissioner Nalle <br />• Inquired about ownership of the building that houses the Starbucks on <br />Fourth & Broadway. Chief Assistant City Attorney Kaufman provided <br />information. <br />• Inquired about status of One Broadway project. Chief Assistant City <br />Attorney Kaufman provided information. <br />• Commented on landscaping treatment at Bristol & MacArthur, and <br />suggested that a photo could be taken of it to use as an example for future <br />projects. <br />• Inquired about project at 17th & Broadway.
