Motion to: <br />Recommend that the City Council: <br />1. Approve and adopt Mitigated Negative Declaration and Monitoring Program <br />for Environmental Review No. 2003-33. <br />2. Public Comments <br />None <br />5 Staff Comments <br />Mr. Edwards <br />Noted that no public hearing items had been scheduled for the May 27, 2003 <br />meeting and asked if the Commission still wished to have a meeting. It was the <br />consensus of the Commission that a meeting should not be held. <br />Ms. Nelson <br />Noted that a budget study session is scheduled for the next City Council meeting <br />and all interested Commissioners are encouraged to attend. <br />6. Planning Commission Comments <br />Commissioner Sinclair <br />• Requested clarification regarding funding for the new parking structure at <br />Bowers Museum. Ms. Nelson advised that it would be a City-owned structure <br />and financed with revenue bonds. <br />• Requested update on Southern California Gas Building. Ms. Nelson advised <br />that soil remediation had been done but there were no specific plans for the <br />building. <br />• Requested an update on the Ware/Madison facility on Sixth Street. <br />Discussion held regarding compliance issues and type of material they are <br />allowed to accept. <br />Commissioner Mondo <br />• Noted that it would be beneficial to tour the expanded C3-A District. <br />• Suggested that the Hutton Center be considered for designation as a Specific <br />Development (SD). <br />Commissioner Cribb <br />• Thanked staff for their work on the live/work projects. <br />• Complimented staff on work done on the Sunflower Center and noted that <br />South Bristol is becoming a very fashionable district. <br />• Requested a review of permitted uses in the C3-A zone. <br />• Requested a discussion regarding churches and their uses in commercial and <br />entertainment centers. <br />• Noted that he had heard Lupe's Restaurant site is being considered for a <br />Starbucks. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES 6 MAY 12, 2003 <br />
