<br />• Noted there were eight shopping carts and overflowing trash at the bus stop at <br />Sunflower and Bristol requesting the number of trash pick-ups be increased and the <br />retrieval of shopping carts be reviewed. <br />• Requested that staff investigate the possibility of having landscaping installed behind <br />the Kids R Us and Firestone Tires shopping center by the flood control culvert on <br />South Bristol Street. <br />• Requested that staff contact the leasing agent for the Starbuck's in Hutton Center <br />concerning the poor conditions of the facility and on the conduct of the employees. <br />• Welcomed Commissioner Sinclair noting appreciation as to the wealth of information <br />she brings to the Commission. <br />• Asked that the meeting be adjourned in memory of Romayne Malloy who was a big <br />supporter of the arts, a champion for the city with a positive attitude she shared with <br />all. <br />Commissioner Mondo <br />• Asked if the graphic panels that the KFC/Long John Silver applicant was proposing <br />for future signage were covered under the City's sign permit process or if we need to <br />look at the issue and address. Mr. Edwards answered that the panels would fall <br />under our current sign code and would require a permit. <br />Commissioner Sinclair <br />• Requested an update on regulations regarding tree houses. Mr. Edwards noted they <br />are not regulated adding staff is currently researching and will report back to <br />Commission as to the findings. <br />• Asked on the status of the Starbuck's on Memory Lane and Bristol. Ms. Nelson <br />noted the project is still in the works and she will be meeting with representatives in <br />the next week. <br />• Asked on the status of the 17th and Bristol Street shopping center. Ms. Nelson noted <br />Target has submitted plans to the City to occupy the vacant House-2-Home building <br />and Office Depot is slated to move into the Montgomery Wards Tire & Battery Store. <br />1 <br />Commissioner De La Torre <br />• Welcomed Commissioner Sinclair noting it was a pleasure working with her on ETAC <br />and looks forward to working with her again on the Commission. <br />Requested a copy of the signage ordinance. <br />Requested copies of the City's logos. <br />Chairman Nalle <br />• Welcomed Commissioner Sinclair to the Commission. <br />• Noted concern on the categorizations of historical homes by the Historic Resources <br />Commission in Floral Park. <br />• Asked for additional information on the Main Street Concourse project. Ms. Nelson <br />noted issues the owner has including parking for retail tenants and physical layout <br />adding the Commission should receive additional information next month. <br />• Noted concern on the appearance of the Walgreens at 17"' and Grand Avenue. <br />• Asked for an update on the Starbuck's on Memory Lane and Bristol. Ms. Nelson <br />noted the developer has been working on a site plan where they plan to include retail <br />space in addition to the Starbuck's. <br />6. Excuse of Absences -None <br />7.
