ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENT NO. 01-10 <br />(Continued by the Planning Commission January ~4, 2002 to February 71, 2002) <br />Filed by the City of Santa Ana to amend Chapter ~1 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code <br />regarding commercial storage, mini-warehouse, and recreational vehicle and/or boat <br />storage use in the Light Industrial (M1) and Heavy Industrial (M2) zoning districts. <br />PUBLISHED IN THE REGISTER: November 2, 2001 <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Continue to February 25, 2002. <br />* * * END OF CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Charles View, Planning Manager, announced that he had accepted a position with the City of <br />Brea as the Development Service Director. The Commission noted congratulations to Mr. View. <br />WORK STUDY SESSION <br />D. REVIEW OF ANNUAL OBJECTIVES <br />Jeffry Rice, Principal Planner, reviewed and provided updates on the following Planning <br />Commission Objectives for Year 2001-02: <br />1. 55-Freeway Corridor Study <br />2. South Bristol Improvement Plan <br />3. Non-Conforming Code (Multi-Tenant Centers) <br />4. RTC/Santa Ana Boulevard Plan <br />Discussion ensued on the non-conforming ordinance and examples in the city <br />Mr. Rice noted the Planning & Building Agency's 2001-02 Priority Objectives. <br />Mr. View requested items for the Commission's objectives for the next fiscal year, which <br />runs from July 2002 to June 2003. <br />Commissioner Cribb requested a study for a west side town center to include a possible <br />mid-rise/high-rise development. <br />Update Harbor Boulevard Specific Plan <br />• West Side Town Center <br />• Harbor/McFadden (1 option) <br />• Residential Options <br />• Professional Offices <br />• Commercial Uses <br />Commissioner Leo requested a review of the downtown. <br />2. Review Downtown Plan to establish ways to <br />• Recapture Tenants <br />• Establish an entertainment/club area <br />Mr. Rice encouraged Commissioners to brainstorm objectives and bring back to a future <br />meeting or contact staff. <br />COMMENTS <br />E.
