Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Approve an appropriation adjustment in the amount of $1,189,344 for housing assistance <br />payments (HAP) and administration of 100 Mainstream Vouchers. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Santa Ana Housing Authority has been awarded 100 vouchers under the Department of <br />Housing Urban Development's (HUD) FY 2009 Vouchers For Non-Elderly Persons with <br />Disabilities. The Mainstream Program was established by the Secretary of HUD to provide rental <br />vouchers to enable persons with disabilities to rent safe, decent and affordable housing of their <br />choice. These 100 vouchers will assist the Santa Ana Housing Authority in providing rental <br />assistance to a segment of the population recognized by HUD as having one of the greatest <br />housing needs of any group. The Authority's wait list currently has 1,785 disabled resident <br />families and 2,082 disabled non-resident families. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />The Santa Ana Housing Authority will receive funds in the housing assistance payments account <br />(13718760) and in the administrative funds account (14018760). <br />Cynthia J.
