RESOLUTION NO. 97-08 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING <br />NEIGHBORHOOD PROJECT REVIEW NO. 97-06 TO <br />ALLOW CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW ONE STORY <br />RESIDENCE IN THE FRENCH PARK HISTORIC <br />DISTRICT <br />WHEREAS, the subject property is located at 814 North Garfield <br />Street, within the Specific Development No. 19 zoning district, <br />also known as the French Park Historic District; and <br />WHEREAS, the applicant desires to construct a new, 1,432 <br />square foot, one-story Victorian style residence; and ` <br />WHEREAS, in order to proceed with construction, zoning <br />provisions require that all new construction projects be reviewed <br />and approved by both the neighborhood association and the Planning <br />Commission to ensure architectural compatibility with the district; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the French Park Architectural Review Committee, in a <br />letter dated July 14, 1997, approved the project provided five <br />revisions were made to the project; and <br />WHEREAS, the project came before the Planning Commission for <br />review and recommendations on the Consent Calendar of the August <br />11, 1997 meeting. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF <br />THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. Based upon the evidence submitted at the abovesaid <br />meeting this Commission finds and determines as follows: <br />That the proposed project, as conditioned, is compatible with <br />the French Park architectural character and the design <br />criteria for styles found in the area and will not be <br />detrimental to the harmonious development of the City or <br />impair the desirability of investment or occupation in the <br />neighborhood. <br />2. Neighborhood Project Review No. 97-06 is hereby approved, <br />as conditioned in Attachment A, attached hereto and incorporated <br />herein. <br /> <br />1 <br />
