N-2011-005 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />it <br />,.: <br />1 "? <br />?=•: <br />1 +=. <br />. ?: <br />"?, <br />1.,, . <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />Copy ' "' <br />V?c nl, N??Ie'-' <br />MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING C-9-0825 <br />BY AND BETWEEN <br />ORANGE COUNTY TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY <br />AND <br />THE CITIES OF GARDEN GROVE, SANTA ANA, <br />SEAL BEACH, WESTMINSTER <br />AND <br />THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION <br />FOR <br />THE WESTMINSTER AVENUE/17T" STREET TRAFFIC SIGNAL SYNCHRONIZATION PROJECT <br />?t <br />The following Memorandum of Understanding (hereinafter, "MOU") is effective this _? day <br />?,?t L <br />of MAfzGN 201, entered by and between the Orange County Transportation Authority <br />(hereinafter, "AUTHORITY"), the City of Garden Grove, City of Santa Ana, City of Seal Beach, City of <br />Westminster, and the State of California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) (hereinafter referred <br />to as the "AGENCIES" or "AGENCY") . <br />WHEREAS, coordinating traffic signals across cities' boundaries is a major component in <br />enhancing countywide traffic flow and reducing congestion; and <br />WHEREAS, AUTHORITY has the responsibility to carry out signal coordination and <br />synchronization efforts in Orange County; and <br />WHEREAS, the Traffic Signal Synchronization (TSS) Project shall consist of traffic corridors that <br />will span a minimum of two jurisdictions, not require immediate street widening, and have sufficient <br />traffic volumes to show a measurable benefit of interagency signal synchronization through cooperative <br />time-based coordination; and <br />WHEREAS, AUTHORITY and AGENCIES agree to the implementation of the Westminster <br />Avenue/17`" Street Traffic Signal Synchronization Project (hereinafter, the "PROJECT") as one of the <br />three (3) corridors for Traffic Signal Synchronization Projects for Orange County; and <br />Page 1 of 10 <br />L:\Camm\CLERICAL\WORDPROCWGREE WG908256RTMOU. docx
