AND SPECIFIC DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT 65 <br />' Filed by the City of Santa Ana to change the Professional (P) zoning district to Specific Development <br />65 located at 2500 North Main Street establishing signage and development standards for the <br />Discovery Science Center. <br />LEGALLY NOTICED: March 13, 1.998 <br />PUBLICLY NOTICED: March 13, 1998 <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Recommend that the City Council adopt an ordinance approving Amendment Application No. 98-03 <br />establishing Specific Development District 65. <br />Ms. Marta Crane, Assistant Planner [l, presented the staff report and recommendation. <br />Robert Smith, representing Discovery Science Center, requested that the Commission approve <br />Specific Development 65 with the following modifications: <br />1. Section 9 A 1 (a) -allow external illumination of the tri-vision sign (screened from public <br />view); and <br />2. Section 9 A 2 -allow reference to the Launch Pad Science store on the bottom portion of the <br />monument sign. <br />3. Clarify that the total sign area can be up to 544 square feet. <br />Mr. Adams informed the Commission that staff would support the modifications requested. <br />There were no public comments. <br />Motion to recommend that the City Council adopt an ordinance approve Amendment Application <br />No. 98-03 establishing Specific Development 65 with modifications as requested by the applicant <br />and to recommend amendment of the Development Agreement. <br />MOTION: Cribb SECOND: Mondo <br />AYES: Verino, MacDowell, Mondo, Doughty, Nalle, Solorio, and Cribb <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br />2. Adopt a resolution approving Conditional Use Permit No. 98-07 as conditioned. <br />2.
