CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT NO. 96-16 (Larry Yenglin) <br />Filed by Mr. Jose Meza to modify the conditions of approval for the El Comal Restaurant located <br />at 1515 East First Street. <br />LEGALLY NOTICED: January 2, 1998 <br />PUBLICLY NOTICED: December 30, 1997 <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Withdraw the request for Conditional Use Permit No. 96-16 as requested by the applicant. <br />Commissioner Oliver asked for the status of the request and the conditional use permit. <br />' Mr. Adams informed the Commission that the applicant, Mr. Jose Meza, had requested to modify <br />the conditions of approval for the conditional use permit; specifically modifying the hours of the <br />required security guard and allowing live entertainment at the restaurant. Staff met with Mr. Meza <br />and informed him that if the request was reviewed by the Commission, staff would recommend <br />additional conditions as well as informing the Commission of current condition violations. Discussion of the Regulation of Exterior Automatic Machines and Community Bulletin Boards <br />Citywide. <br />Mr. Bill Apple, Assistant Planner II, provided afollow-up discussion with the Commission regarding <br />exterior water machines, kiddie rides, and bulletin boards. <br />At the conclusion of the discussion, the consensus of the Commission was to require that water <br />machines be placed inside of buildings; allow two kiddie rides exterior to buildings; require bulletin <br />boards in the interior of buildings; and require business owners six months to remove items and <br />comply with standards. <br />Commissioner Solorio requested staff to bring forward to the Commission a plan of how staff was <br />going to resolve appurtenance problems and also to provide a priority list of code enforcement <br />activities to ensure that too much time would not be spent on appurtenance issues when more pressing <br />enforcement problems existed. <br />PLINNINO COMMISSION MINUTES 2 IANUARY 7b, 1998 <br />
