ORDINANCE AMENDMENT NO. 97-04 <br />Filed by the City of Santa Ana to revise Chapter 30 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code regarding <br />historic structures and amend the Santa Ana Register of Historic Properties. <br />1 <br />(Continued by Planning Commission September 8, 1997 to October 13, 1997) <br />LEGALLY NOTICED: August 15, 1997 <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />1. Recommend that the City Council adopt an ordinance approving Ordinance Amendment No. <br />97-04, <br />2. Recommend that the City Council adopt a resolution amending the Santa Ana Register of <br />Historical Property. <br />Commissioner Hanna indicated that due to an apparent conflict of interest, upon the advice by the <br />City Attorney's Office, he would abstain from taking action on the item. <br />Mr. Larry Yenglin, Associate Planner, provided a brief overview of the staff report and indicated <br />revisions to the proposed ordinance. <br />The following public members spoke in favor of the ordinance: <br /> <br />Diane Marsh <br />Jeff Dickman <br />Tim Rush <br />Jim Marquez <br />Ginelle Hazdy <br />Lazry Hanes <br />Archie Berry <br />The following public members expressed opposition to the proposed ordinance: <br />Peter Wernikie <br />Suzanne Wernike <br />Betty Biner <br />MOTION: Approve Ordinance Amendment No. 97-04 with the exclusion ofthe Prebble House <br />from the Historical list and modification. <br />MOTION: MacDowell <br />SECOND: Solorio <br />In addition, Commissioner Oliver requested staff to notify the property owners of the Planning <br />Commission decision and the properties listed on the Historical Register. Specifically, the seven <br />property owners that requested their property be removed from the historical list. <br />Mr. Adams indicated that the property owners would be notified of the public heazings when a <br />property was being considered for the historical list. <br />0 <br />Commissioner Oliver indicated that he would like the property owners to be notified once a property <br />was nominated to be included on the Historical list or register. <br />Chairman Nalle requested a modified motion to include notification of the property owners once a <br />nomination on the historical register occurs as well as notification of the Planning Commission <br />decision regarding their property. <br />AMENDED <br />MOTION: Approve Ordinance Amendment No. 97-04 with the exclusion ofthe Prebble House <br />from the Historical list; with the modification that the owner of the property(s) must <br />be notified of its nomination upon receipt of an application by the Planning and <br />PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES <br />2 <br />OCTOBER 13, 1997 <br />
