Comments frog the Executive Director. (Robyn Uptegraff) <br />Ms. Uptegraff indicated that: <br />1. The Wa1*mart project was nearing completion of plan check. Permits <br />would be issued within 30 days and there would be ground breaking <br />ceremony immediately following. <br />2. The new Executive Director of Recreation and Community Services would <br />be present at the March 27, 1997 Planning Commission session. <br />3. Mr. Kermit Francis, Executive Director of Personnel, would be retiring <br />and a new director would be announced within 30 days. <br />4. The City would be moving forward with the re-building project of the <br />Police Facility for the Planning and Building Agency. <br />' I. Cosoents from the Pleasing Manager. (Kenneth Adams) <br />Mr. Adams commented that: <br />1. The MRI trailer at Hutton Center was illegal and Code Enforcement would <br />begin enforcement activities. <br />2. Confirmed March 27, 1997 for the Planning Commission 101 seminar and <br />potluck. <br />J. Comments from the Planning Commission. <br />Commissioner MacDowell requested staff to investigate the parking lot sales <br />at the Montgomery Wards's in the Bristol Marketplace. <br />Commissioner Oliver expressed his appreciation for the wild flowers along the <br />freeway and requested a letter be sent to CalTrans expressing his <br />appreciation. <br />Ms. Uptegraff commented that staff would provide an update on the I-5 <br />landscaping plan at one of the upcoming Planning Commission meetings. <br />Commissioner Oliver requested enforcement on all illegal freeway advertising <br />such as Oneil Moving and Storage Co. off of the 55 freeway and the carpet <br />sales off of the I-5 freeway. <br />Commissioner Pedroza requested staff to investigate the permit parking along <br />Memory Lane for Santiago College. <br />Commissioner Doughty asked that campaign signs for Councilman Moreno be <br />' removed throughout the City. <br />Commissioner Doughty asked when the Taqueria at Seventeenth and Westwood was <br />due to open. <br />In response, staff indicated that the work on this project had been <br />inconsistent but the permits for the project were still valid. <br />Commissioner Nalle asked the status of the E1 Comal restaurant. <br />Staff indicated that the insurance claims had been submitted and were being <br />processed. <br />MINUTES 2 FEBRUARY 24, 1997 <br />
