ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENT NO.00-09 <br />Filed by the City of Santa Ana to amend various sections of Chapter 41 of the Santa Ana <br />Municipal Code to allow banquet facilities as conditionally permitted uses citywide. <br />LEGALLY NOTICED: July 24, 2000 <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Recommend that the City Council adopt an ordinance approving Zoning Ordinance <br />Amendment No. 00-09. <br />Mr. Verny Carvajal, Associate Planner, presented the staff report, provided an overview <br />of the proposed ordinance, and staff recommendation. <br />' Commissioner Solorio commented regarding the strict security guard requirement for <br />some of the banquets, especially children's events. <br />Mr. Kenneth Adams, Acting Executive Director, noted that the Commission had the <br />authority to amend any condition of approval pertaining to banquet facilities at its <br />discretion. <br />Chairman Mondo opened the public hearing at 7:20 p.m. <br />There were no public comments. <br />Chairman Mondo closed the public hearing at 7:20 p.m. <br />Motion to recommend that the City Council: 1) approve and adopt the Negative <br />Declaration for Environmental Review No. 00-123; and 2) adopt an ordinance <br />approving Zoning Ordinance Amendment No. 00-09. <br />MOTION <br /> AYES: <br /> NOES: <br />' ABSENT: <br /> ABSTENTION: <br />Nalle <br />Mondo, Nalle, Doughty, <br />Solorio <br />Richardson <br />None <br />SECONDED: Verino <br />Verino, and Cribb <br />2.
