Approve and certify the Negative Declazation for Environmental Review No. 98-49. <br />2. Adopt a resolution approving Conditional Use Permit No. 00-O1. <br />Mr. Vince Fregoso, Associate Planner, provided an overview regarding the resolution that had been requested <br />at the previous Planning Commission meeting. He indicated the pazking had been adjusted to provide <br />additional landscaping on the arterials; the landscape pallet had been enhanced; and the pazking plan had been <br />revised to provide sufficient parking even during peak hour activity for the proposed uses at the site. <br />Mc Art Bannick, Bally Total Fitness, spoke in support of staff s recommendation and re-affirmed that there <br />was a possibility that Balley's would request a sign vaziance for the Bristol Street side of its building. <br />Mr. James Carter, applicant, re-affirmed his support of staff s position and committed to upgrading the Center <br />to be competitive in the South Coast Metro market. <br />Motion to recommend that the City Council: I) approve and certify the Negative Declaration for <br />Environmental Review No. 98-49; 2) adopt an ordinance approving Amendment Application No. 00-O1; <br />and 3) adopt a resolution approving Variance No. 00-02. <br />MOTION: Verino SECONDED: Cribb <br />AYES: Mondo, Solorio, Verino, and Cribb <br />OPPOSED: None <br />ABSENT: Nalle, Doughty, and Richardson <br />ABSTAINED: None <br />
