Comments from the Executive Director. <br />The Executive Director was absent. <br />F. Comments from the Planning Manager and staff. <br />There were no comments. <br />G. Comments from the Planning Commission. <br />Commissioner Richazdson requested staff to provide an exact date for the re-opening of Ross Street and <br />stated that he would like to see the re-opening of the street no later than September 20, 1999. In addition, <br />he reiterated his displeasure with the time length of the street closure. <br />Commissioner Doughty asked the status of the Livework project. Mr. Adams stated that he had no status <br />update for the project. <br />Commissioner Nalle commented regarding the recent protests and controversy regazding the Vietnamese art <br />work at the Bower's Museum and asked if staff pazticipated or commented regarding the special exhibits at <br />the museum. Mr. Adams stated that staff did not participate in commenting on the exhibits at the museum. <br /> <br />Commissioner Mondo: 1) expressed his displeasure regarding the street closures of Dyer Road and <br />MacArthur as well as the work on the 55 Freeway and commented regarding the difficult traffic circulation <br />in the area. Ms. Joyce Amerson responded that staff tried to expedite the construction of First American <br />project to avoid the many street closures in the area, however, the construction surrounding the street <br />closure was not completed within the desired timeframe. In addition, she informed the Commission that <br />Caltrans had the higher authority as to the closures of the freeway off-ramps; 2) asked staff to verify <br />whether or not there would be two or three lanes on Harbor and MacArthur. Ms. Amerson stated that she <br />would verify the number of lanes; 3) asked what was going to happen regazding the overflow apartment <br />pazking on Columbine, east of Main Street and suggested that staff bring back to the Commission for <br />discussion at an upcoming meeting; 4) informed staff that there was additional signage at the Chevron station <br />located at 2650 North Grand Avenue than what was approved by the Commission; and 5) informed staff that <br />the Home Depot site on MacArthur was in code violations regazding sidewalk sales and landscaping. <br />H.
