ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENT NO. 2001-11 <br />(Continued by the Planning Commission November 13, 2001 to December 10, 2001.) <br />Filed by the City of Santa Ana to amend Chapter 41 of the Santa Ana Municipal <br />Code to establish standards for exterior pay phones. <br />PUBLISHED IN THE REGISTER: November 2, 2001 <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Recommend that the City Council adopt an ordinance approving Zoning Ordinance <br />Amendment No. 2001-11. <br />Joseph Edwards, Principal Planner, presented the staff report. <br />Chairman Mondo advised that the public hearing had been closed on November 13, <br />2001 and he was not reopening except to respond to questions regarding written <br />material received. <br />Chairman Mondo asked questions regarding location and types of payphone <br />installations. He advised that he was supportive of the amendment with the <br />exception of the conditions regarding minimum spacing between payphones and the <br />minimum walkway on private property. <br />Motion to recommend that the City Council adopt an ordinance approving <br />Zoning Ordinance Amendment No. 01-11 with the following modifications: <br />Sec. 41-198.100 Exterior payphone facilities. <br />2 c. A minimum walkway width of six (6) feet in front of the payphone if located along <br />a primary path of travel.
