Public Comments <br />There were no public comments. <br />5. Comments from the Staff <br />Mr. Rice announced that the State approved and adopted Santa Ana's Housing <br />Element. <br />6. Comments from the Planning Commission <br />Commissioner Leo noted he would like to make sure staff does their best to take <br />care of the long-term residential hotel residents that will be affected by proposed <br />ordinance. <br />Commissioner Nalle <br />• Agreed with Commissioner Leo and noted one of the attractive things is the 3- <br />yearamortization period. <br />• Suggested staff investigate with other cities to inquire if they have any new <br />standards/criteria for different types of hotels. <br />fl <br />Commissioner Cribb inquired when discussion will be made regarding inclusion <br />of water elements in future developments. Mr. Rice noted the Urban Design <br />Element layers will be presented on May 29 and June 25. <br />Chairman Mondo <br />Noted that the city needs to have standards for various hotels which may <br />result in some product not coming into the city. <br />• Addressed the Planning Commission response from Bruce Dunams regarding <br />the illegal chain link fence at 2420 N.
