Filed by Brehm Homes to subdivide 9 acres into 36 lots in order to allow <br />construction of 36 single-family homes located at 2800 North Farmers Drive in <br />the Single-Family Residential (Ri) zoning district. <br />PUBLISHED IN THE REGISTER: March 30, 2001 <br />PUBLICLY NOTICED: March 30, 2001 <br />' RECOMMENDATION: <br />Recommend that the City Council: <br />1. Approve and adopt the Mitigated Negative Declaration for Environmental <br />Review No. 2001-24. <br />2. Adopt a resolution approving Tentative Tract Map No. 16187 as conditioned. <br />Lynnette Perry, Associate Planner, presented the staff report and <br />recommendation. <br />Vice Chairman Nalle declared a conflict of interest on Item 3, indicating abstention and <br />left the meeting for this item. <br />Chairman Mondo announced documents received: Letters of support from <br />Robert V. Gauthier and Kathy Faught; letter of concern on project and effects on <br />neighborhood by Gail Farber; and letters to request continuance from Gorton <br />Itow of Santa Ana Unified School District (SAUSD) apd John B. Carmichael III, <br />legal counsel for SAUSD. <br />David Brant, representing applicant, provided background information on the <br />' proposed project and displayed three different plans of the homes. <br />Chairman Mondo opened the public hearing at 9:08 p.m. <br />The following individuals spoke in favor of postponing item in order to allow the <br />SAUSD time to present plan for new school: <br />Patricia Gomez <br />Venancio Chavez <br />Victoria Zaragoza <br />Yolanda Ramirez <br />Representing SAUSD: John Bennett, Don Stabler, Gordon Itow & Ruben Smith <br />Sergio Partida <br />Maria Guadalupe Enriquez <br />Isabel Linares <br />Maria Montalvo <br />Colette Marie McLaughlin <br />Jazmin Sanchez <br />The following individuals spoke in support of the project: <br />Wendy Navarro <br />James Kendrick <br />Robert MacLeod <br />Kimberly Sinclair <br />Rory Tompoles <br />Julie Stroud <br />Tom Smalley <br />The following voiced concerns over the size of the homes and intensity of <br />development: Michael Gallanes and Steve Oliver <br />Adriana Pichardo voiced concern of two schools not reaching API scores and <br />questioned the need for a school in the area. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES 7 APRIL 9, 2001 <br />
