DISCUSSION OF SANTA ANA RENAISSANCE SI?ECIFIC PLAN <br />Associate Planner Lucy Linnaus recapped the outreach efforts and provided an <br />overview of the Renaissance Plan to the Historic Resources Commission. <br />Public Comments: <br />Jackie Deter voiced concern with omission of area B within Chapter 3 of the <br />Plan. <br />Nick Spain voiced concern with implementation of Chapter 3 and proposed <br />neighborhood based-gardens to be included with Plan, and also discouraged use <br />of Jacaranda streetscape trees. <br />Public Comments (items not on the actenda) <br />Nick Spain announced Farmer's Market resumes in February 2008. <br />STAFF AND COMMISSION COMMENTS <br />2. Staff Comments <br />Hally Soboleske announced the cancellation of the January meeting; regular <br />meeting resumes February 7, 2008. <br />3. Historic Resources Commission Comments <br />Commissioner Stroud <br />• Commented on community gardens and shared a Cabrillo Park diagram <br />for the proposed project(s) with the Commission. <br />Commissioner Chinn <br />• Provided an article on the Maharajah structure at 2221 North Heliotrope <br />Drive. <br />• Commented on tree destruction at Seventeenth Street during winds and <br />inquired about replacement plans. <br />Vice Chair Dickman <br />• Commented on Los Angeles article of September 30 "Banking on Value of <br />History" regarding addition of 14 districts. <br />' Commissioner Bustamante <br />• Inquired about public outreach efforts regarding the Mills Act program. <br />Hally Soboleske provided information. <br />Chair Schaefer <br />Appreciated Renaissance Plan comments from commissioners and voiced <br />concern with structures that are being removed during new development. <br />Historic Resources Commission Minutes 2 December 6, 2007 <br />
