HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION COMMENTS <br />Commissioner Seelev <br />• Apologized for absence at the last meeting noting he had a valid excuse <br /> <br />Commissioner Chinn <br />• Thanked Commissioner Bustamante on the nice new lamps outside the Patricia <br />Apartment doors <br />• Commented on the letter from the Santa Ana Historic Preservation Society to the <br />Council on protecting the Twist-Basler Home and asked for an update; and <br />inquired on the status of the grant to assist with the restoration of the home. Mr. <br />Klotz noted the grant, which was submitted by the Parks, Recreation & <br />Community Services Agency, was not selected for funding; and noted plans are <br />in the plan check process and are waiting for re-submittal of corrections to the <br />plans <br />• Commented that the Crookshank House was on the Planning Commission <br />agenda for approval for the rehab of the front porch and inquired why it went for <br />their approval as the property is on the historic register. Ms. Soboleske noted <br />since the property is located within Specific District No. 19, it is required to go to <br />Planning Commission for final approval <br />• Announced he will not be at next meeting on October 4 as he will be at the <br />National Trust meeting in St. Paul, Minnesota <br />• Thanked Ms. Soboleske for a copy of the "The Economics of Historic <br />Preservation" speech by Don Rypkema noting the importance of historical <br />districts to cities <br />HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION MINUTES 5 SEPTEMBER 6, 2007 <br />
