Bedrooms <br />Doors required on all bedrooms. <br />Bedrooms in basements or attics are not allowed unless they meet local code <br />requirements and must have adequate ventilation and emergency exit capability. <br />Minimum bedroom ceiling height is 7'6" or local code, whichever is greater. Sloping <br />ceilings may not slope to lower than five feet in a 70 square foot area. <br />Exteriors <br />Street numbers must be present and visible from the street. <br />Graffiti must be removed or painted over if located on the structure or fence. <br />Pools must be in good condition and filled with water or sand. Pool maintenance is <br />always the responsibility of the owner, even in single family units. <br />General <br />A smoke detector is required on each floor level on all units other than garden apartments <br />and high-rises. A smoke detector within unit and in common hallways required for <br />garden apartments and high-rises. <br />SAHA may fail unsanitary conditions where exposed food, garbage, and excrement exists <br />to a degree where health may be endangered <br />Dumpsters are required on all buildings with four or more units and must be monitored to <br />assure adequate pick-ups. <br />All units must have the correct temperature-pressure relief valve according to the PSI <br />needed for the size of water heater. <br />Pilot lights, which are present on gas stoves and heaters, must be in proper working order. <br />If exterior doors have dead bolt locks, one exit door must be accessible to the outside <br />without the use of a key. Reference the Fire Code, Uniform Fire Code 12-104B. <br />A 3/4" overflow pipe installed on the hot water heater safety valves down to within six to <br />twenty-four inches (6" - 24") of the floor. If water heater is in garage, it must be raised a <br />minimum of 18" from the floor. <br />iii29iio Page 8-5 <br />
