Staff announced due to an error in noticing, the public hearing for this item will be <br />re-noticed for a future hearing. <br />3. PUBLIC COMMENTS (for items not on the agenda) -None <br />4. STAFF COMMENTS <br />' Hallv Soboleske <br />• Noted Leslie Heumann, historic consultant, is currently surveying the Taller San <br />Jose building and the property previously owned by Ralph Smedley at 2328 N. <br />Bonnie Brae which have both been altered significantly but may have cultural <br />significance <br />• There will be a Template Review Committee meeting on Friday, August 4, 2006, <br />4:30 p.m. in the Ross Annex and will be reviewing the Flower Park neighborhood <br />properties <br />• Provided an update on the Episcopal Church of the Messiah noting she spoke <br />with Francisco Hernandez who noted they received the required HUD clearance. <br />They are ready to go out for bids, and to receive funding <br />5. HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION COMMENTS <br />Commissioner Macres <br />• Thanked Ms. Soboleske for information he received on the Dr. Crane <br />House/Smith-Tuthill Funeral Parlor <br />Commissioner Lutz <br />• Requested an update on the Third & Sycamore lofts <br />• Reported an oak tree was removed couple of years ago at 2116 N. Freeman and <br />a new tree replanted in a different location. The soil has settled with a basin <br />' where the tree was removed and asked if Public Works staff could level out. <br />Vice Chair Schaefer <br />• Noted he was pleased with the Renaissance Specific Plan adding he is thrilled <br />Santa Ana is taking that type of stance and using space more efficiently and <br />effectively, and bringing things into today's time while preserving the historic past <br />adding he is thankful of the progress that is being made <br />Commissioner Corwin <br />• Noted that she is looking forward to the Renaissance Specific Plan taking effect <br />and thanked staff for bringing the information to the Commission <br />• Requested that staff investigate and replace the new street sign that incorrectly <br />reads 100 West Borchard instead of 1100 West Borchard <br />Commissioner Chinn <br />• Noted he feels the Renaissance Specific Plan is a great step forward for the City, <br />adding he heard interesting comments from both the City Council and Planning <br />Commission. Requested that the Commission form a subcommittee to look at <br />the plan and go on record with their comments <br />Commissioner Bustamante <br />• Noted agreement with fellow Commissioners on the Renaissance Specific Plan <br />adding it is an exciting time to be residents of the City <br />Chairman Cook-Giles <br />• Asked that staff agendize the discussion of the Commission taking a stance on <br />the Renaissance Specific Plan at some point in the future once there is a <br />proposal to review <br />• Noted that he attended the Anaheim Historical Tour this past month and went <br />through beautifully restored homes on Heritage Road <br />HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION MINUTES 4 JULY 6, 2006 <br />
