Commissioner Macres inquired as to the uniqueness of the North Bonnie Brae <br />property and also if owner, Ms. Perez, was in agreement with the placement on <br />the Santa Ana Register. Ms. Soboleske commented on the architectural and <br />family name history associated with the Bonne Brae property. Public Comments (items not on the agenda) <br />Jeff Dickman inquired if there could be more neighborhood participation for <br />selection of properties under consideration for placement on the historical <br />register. <br />STAFF AND COMMISSION COMMENTS <br />4. Staff Comments <br />Karen Haluza commented on the upcoming Renaissance Specific Plan Charrette <br />schedules; she also indicated there will be a sign-in sheet to monitor the number <br />of commissioners attending. There will also be a study session after the <br />Charrette provided by the Moule Polyzoides consultants to the Historic <br />' Commission. <br />Kylee Otto provided a response to Commissioner Chinn's inquiry regarding the <br />Mills Act. She stated that the cancellation fee on the Mills Act could not be <br />waived. <br />5. Historic Resources Commission Comments <br />Commissioner Bustamante <br />• Requested an update on the door at Twist-Basler House. Karen Haluza <br />indicated there is no new information; to the extent of structural modification, <br />the item would return to the Historic Commission for review. <br />• Requested an update to the appliques that peeled off on the glass along the <br />front of Original Mike's. <br />Commissioner Chinn <br />• Requested an update to the Yale Apartments, would like information on the <br />demolition process. <br />• Expressed concern about Heninger Park's protected houses. Ms. Haluza <br />stated that all houses are covered by the Heninger Park Specific <br />Development Design Guidelines that were recently updated, as well as by the <br />' zone overlay within the specific development. <br />• Expressed concern about the new signage on historical buildings with regard <br />to the review and appeal process. <br />Commissioner Corpin <br />• Inquired about the scope of the Charrette, the schedule and the summary by <br />the consultants. Staff provided information. <br />• Commented on signage at Original Mike's.
