2. Public Comments (items not on the agenda) <br />No comments were made. <br />STAFF AND COMMISSION COMMENTS <br />' 3. Staff Comments <br />Hally Soboleske wished the Commissioners Happy Holidays, stated that the year <br />was successful with the addition of 31 Mills Act contracts. She indicated that <br />Riverview West will be the next neighborhood to be surveyed. <br />Ms. Soboleske provided an update on the renovations to the interior of the Ford <br />House/Pepito and the Joanne Dance Studio. She provided additional <br />historical/cultural information regarding this property. The Commission <br />concurred that this new information should be recorded in the property's <br />template. The modified template will be brought back to the Commission for <br />approval. <br />Jay Trevino toured the Joe Lowell house at 924 N. Lowell Street during <br />renovations and praised the owner's effort to retain the original features of the <br />structure. Commissioner O'Callaghan concurred as he coordinated work efforts <br />with the owner. Mr. Astran. <br />4. Historic Resources Commission Comments <br />Commissioner Chinn <br />• Commented on the impressive renovations made to the Borchard House <br />' at 1617 E. Fourth Street. Suggested that the residence be placed on a <br />home tour. <br />• Extended Happy Holidays wishes to all. <br />Commissioner Corpin <br />• Thanked everyone for a successful year and extended Happy Holiday <br />wishes. <br />Vice Chair Schaefer <br />• Requested the 2006 Historic Commission meeting dates. <br />• Recommended that staff provide better photos for review during the <br />Commission hearings. <br />• Inquired how staff handles fencing that complements the architecture of a <br />structure. Staff indicated design assistance is shown in the citywide <br />design guidelines. <br />• Requested a discussion on the Goals and Objectives for 2004 - 2005. <br />• Extended Happy Holiday wishes to all. <br />Commissioner O'Callaghan <br />• Extended Happy Holidays wishes to all. <br />' Commissioner Lutz <br />• Requested a copy of the Los Angeles Times article regarding the Santa <br />Ana Walking tour. <br />• Thanked staff for their work throughout the year, including the <br />encouragement with homeowners to be in agreement with their property <br />being listed on the Santa Ana Historical Register. <br />• Extended Happy Holidays and Happy New Year wishes to all. <br />Historic Resources Commission Minutes 4 December 1, 2005 <br />
