Senior Planner Sergio Klotz presented the staff report and recommendation. Mr. <br />Klotz introduced Robert Coffee, architect for The Bowers Museum. <br />Mr. Coffee reviewed the original 1932 building design, the 1992 moderate- <br />contemporary modifications and commented on the 2005 additions to the <br />museum structure. Mr. Coffee discussed the overall features for the integration of <br />the architecture and the landscape. <br />-' Commission voiced appreciation of the detailed presentation and commented on <br />the Bowers monument sign, the features for the north elevation, the tree <br />selection for the landscape, longevity of material usage, and the interior design <br />for the main lobby. <br />The public hearing was opened. <br />No comments were made. <br />The public hearing was closed. <br />MOTION: Adopt a resolution approving Historic Exterior Modification Application <br />No. 2005-02. <br />MOTION: Lutz SECOND: Sarmiento <br />VOTE: AYES: Chinn, Corpin, Lutz, O'Callaghan, Sarmiento, Schaefer, <br /> Seeley (7) <br />NOES: None (0) <br />ABSENT: Bustamante, Giles (2) <br />ABSTAIN: None (0) <br />4. Staff Comments <br />Maya De Rosa made the following comments: <br />• Extended congratulations to Dr. and Mrs. Bustamante with the birth of <br />their daughter, Isabella Sofia born on June 19. <br />• Announced the upcoming Design Review workshop scheduled for July 26. <br />• Announced her resignation effective the end of July. <br />Mr. Trevino praised Maya's exemplary efforts and extended her best wishes. He <br />indicated staff will be announcing a farewell event to honor Maya. <br />6. Historic Resources Commission Comments <br />Commissioner Lutz <br />• Extended best wishes to Maya with her new endeavor. <br />• Requested information regarding the fountain at the Bowers Museum that was <br />' converted into a garden. Staff will advise. <br />Commissioner O'Callaghan <br />• Extended good luck wishes to Maya. <br />• Inquired as to whom from the City nominated Floral Park for neighborhood of the <br />year.
