Public Comments (for items not on the agenda) <br />No comments were made. <br />i~ ~~::. r: nr6 i'. t~v ~"..:~` titV a~i u.t [1f~lYtl l<',`v s'w <br />Staff Comments <br />Karen Haluza commented on Steve Harding's participation on a panel discussion <br />regarding downtown revitalization in Santa Ana on KPCC with Larry Mantle's talk <br />show on April 8, 2005 at Steamers Restaurant in Fullerton. <br />Hally Soboleske announced the upcoming Template Review Committee meeting <br />scheduled for April 13. <br />2. <br />Historic Resources Commission Comments <br />Commissioner Sarmiento <br />Commented on the Court of Appeals update, with UC Irvine and City of <br />Santa Ana participation. <br />Commissioner Kings <br />Praised the upcoming project on Fourth Street and mentioned that the <br />architect, Stephanos Polyzoides, was a former mentor. <br />Vice Chair Schaefer <br />Commented on attending a Chicago conference and taking an <br />architectural tour that highlighted the blending of historic and modern high- <br />rise buildings in the city. Recommended that the City of Santa Ana <br />develop a similar tour. <br /> <br />Commissioner O'Callaghan <br />• Commented that public notification cards should have more detail <br />information for agendized items. <br />Commissioner Bustamante <br />Suggested pursuing a historical publication highlighting well-known <br />authors from the City of Santa Ana and actors that have toured Santa <br />Ana. <br />Commissioner Lutz <br />Commented on Washington Square Neighborhood Association's concern <br />with increase of garage conversions in the neighborhood. He stated that <br />realtors advertised homes as "garage conversions"; recommended a study <br />session to review what is allowed. <br />Chair Giles <br />• Announced Template Review scheduled for April 13 and requested staff to <br />notify Commissioner Corpin. <br />• Announced the Floral Park Home & Garden Tour scheduled for April 23 & <br />24, 2005. <br />' 3. Excuse of Absences <br />Commissioner Kings moved to excuse the absences of Commissioners Chinn <br />and Corpin; Commissioner O'Callaghan seconded the motion.
