Commissioner O'Callaghan <br />• Asked about the construction of a studio addition on top of an existing garage <br />located on Bonnie Brae & Santa Clara and the appeal process. Ms. DeRosa noted <br />the item is going to Planning Commission on October 11 and encouraged any <br />interested parties to voice concerns during the public hearing for the item. <br />• Expressed concerns for policy design guidelines for properties currently under <br />construction in the Floral Park neighborhood, Mr. Trevino asked that he provide <br />staff with addresses of properties in question and noted the proper place for <br />comments is at the HRC Ad Hoc Design Guidelines (Committee meetings. <br />' Commissioner Kings <br />• Requested discussion of overlay zones in the Ad Hoc Committee meeting. <br />• Noted the need to perform a windshield survey of South Main Street area noting <br />structures that should be on the register. <br />Commissioner Coroin <br />• Expressed concern on saving historic buildings that qualify on the register and the <br />need for policy if the property owner does not wish to be on the register. <br />Commissioner Bustamante <br />• Apologized for arriving late <br />• Congratulated homeowners for being on the register <br />• Thanked staff for all their hard work <br />Chairman Giles <br />• Noted he shared Commissioner O'Callaghan's concerns on effectively preserving <br />neighborhoods and noted he would be interested in the evaluation of the properties <br />that Commissioner O'Callaghan identifies and a review of how those permits would <br />have fared had the design guidelines been in place when the applications came to <br />the planning counter. <br />• Echoed Commissioner Lutz's comments on the Washington Square Home Tour <br />noting it was a fabulous tour. <br />• Encouraged colleagues who sit on the Planning Commission to encourage that body <br />to move aggressively in protecting neighborhoods historic character, context and <br />features. <br />6. EXCUSE OF ABSENCES <br />Motion by Commissioner Corpin and seconded by Commissioner Bustamante to excuse <br />the absence of Commissioner Chinn and approved unanimously by a vote of 7:0. <br />7.
