Staff Comments <br />Hally Soboleske presented a pictorial overview of the marker dedication <br />ceremony at the Howe -Waffle House on July 10, 2004. <br />4. Historic Resources Commission Comments <br />Commissioner O'Callaghan <br />• Commented on the success of the "The Art of Living-Historic Home <br />& Garden Tour" at Wilshire Square. <br />Commissioner Gartner <br />• Commented on the good attendance and positive reception of the <br />Wilshire Square Summer Street Party <br />Commissioner Chinn <br />• Requested update on existing Historic Loan Program application. <br />Staff confirmed that the loan process is nearly complete and <br />contractor bids are being solicited. <br />• Thanked Hally Soboleske for promoting city design standards at <br />West Floral Park Homeowners Association. <br />• Requested an update on One Broadway Plaza regarding historic <br />preservation project mitigation measure definitions. Staff will <br />advise. <br />• Commented that he is pleased that the Paint Your Heart Out <br />program helps homeowners with abating the lead-paint so that their <br />homes can be repainted at no charge. <br />Commissioner Corpin <br />• Requested update on Original Mike's at First and Main Streets. <br />Staff provided information on pending permits. <br />• Commented on letter from Santa Ana Historical Society and <br />inquired on outcome from agendized City Council appeals of <br />historic designation. Staff provided update. <br />Commissioner Kings <br />• Congratulated Wilshire Square for a fine job on the home tour. <br />• Thanked staff on the marker dedication at the Howe-Waffle House. <br />• Thanked everyone involved with getting on-line access to Santa <br />Ana Register of Historical Properties. <br />Announced the passing of Barbara Blankman and noted her <br />contributions as a historian to the community.
