REC~UEST F®R HOUSING <br />AUTH®RITY ACTT®N <br />MEETING DATE: <br />~'"=>~~ P <br />1fr~;xi%T' <br />..~ <br />~- <br />RECORDING SECRETARY USE ONLY: <br />NOVEMBER 5, 2007 <br />TITLE: <br />MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br />BETWEEN THE SANTA ANA HOUSING <br />AUTHORITY AND THE HOUSING <br />AUTHORITIES OF ANAHEIM, GARDEN <br />GROVE, AND THE COUNTY OF ORANGE <br />FOR THE MOBILITY PROGRAM <br />APPROVED <br />^ As Recommended <br />^ As Amended <br />CONTINUED TO <br />w~ <br />XECUTIVE (RECTOR <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Direct the Authority General Counsel to prepare and authorize the <br />Executive Director and the Secretary of the Authority to execute an <br />amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding between the Santa Ana <br />Housing Authority and the Housing Authorities of Anaheim, Garden Grove, <br />and the County of Orange for the mobility program. <br />COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION <br />At its Regular Meeting of October 16, 2007, by a vote of 4:0 (Pedroza, <br />Turner absent), the Community Redevelopment and Housing Commission <br />recommended that the Housing Authority direct the Authority General <br />Counsel to prepare and authorize the Executive Director and the Secretary <br />of the Authority to execute an amendment to the Memorandum of <br />Understanding between the Santa Ana Housing Authority and the Housing <br />Authorities of Anaheim, Garden Grove, and the County of Orange for the <br />mobility program. <br />DISCUSSION <br />In 1993 the four Housing Authorities in Orange County (Anaheim, Garden <br />Grove, Santa Ana and the County of Orange) entered into a Memorandum of <br />Understanding (MOU) for the purpose of establishing procedures and <br />guidelines for the implementation of an inter-jurisdictional mobility <br />program. Under the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program, participants <br />are able to relocate anywhere in the United States where there is a <br />Housing Authority to administer their voucher.
