Staff indicated the Historic Preservation <br />Awards are scheduled for council presentation on May 6. <br />• 2023 Heliotrope property, were permits obtained? Staff confirmed the permits were <br />obtained for a room addition. <br />• Requested that staff develop a strategy to get homeowners to accept listing on <br />Historical Register. <br />Commissioner Lutz <br />• Concerned with the number of homeowners objecting to being listed on the register. <br />• Noted the sidewalks at 310 Broadway need repairs. Staff will advise. <br />• Requested an update on Kohl's for HRC. Staff will advise. <br />• Commented that the United Way banners on South Bristol & Sunflower do not have a <br />consistent appearance. Requested information on how banners are placed on public <br />light poles. Staff will advise. <br />Commissioner Gartner <br />• Supports Bowers expansion. <br />• Concerned with inconsistent handling of applicant request to remove their property <br />from the register. <br />Chairmah Giles <br />• Concerned with inconsistent handling of removal and continuance of historic <br />properties. <br />• Praised staff for their efforts. <br />' Suggested a special study session to review guidelines. <br />• Repeated concerns from applicants indicating they do not receive enough time to <br />review application; would like future templates to include a log sheet of <br />correspondence with property owner. <br />6.
