The new park will be a joint-use recreational facility to be of use for Willard students
during school hours and then open to the community for their use after school, on weekends, and
during the summer, winter, and spring school breaks. The improvements include the installation of
a synthetic turf sports field, tarton running track, sports lighting, a restroom building, tot lot (play
equipment area), three basketball courts, and decorative fencing (Exhibit 1 ). After reviewing the
proposal, it was determined that a Negative Declaration will be required to meet the requirements
of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). A Request for Proposal for consultant
services was prepared in conjunction with this project (Exhibit 2). The recommended
environmental contract will be submitted for City Council authorization after the review of proposals
has been completed.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact associated with this action.
M.
