HISTORIC RESOURCE DEMOLITION NO. 2001-01.2001- 02 AND 2001-03 <br />Filed by the City of Santa Ana to discuss the notice of intent to demolish <br />three structures located at 1007-1009, 1015, and 1109 North Broadway and <br />fisted on the Santa Ana Register of Historic Properties as part of fhe One <br />Broadway Plaza high-rise office project. <br />PUBLISHED 1N THE REGISTER: December 21, 2001 <br />PUBLICLY NOTICED: December 21, 2001 <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />Receive public comment and discuss the demolition of the hisforical <br />structures locafed at 1007-1009, 1015, and 1109 North Broadway. <br />Joseph Edwards, Principal Planner, provided a brief update and advised the <br />Commission that the Environmental Impact Review's (EIR) anticipated release date is <br />March 29. <br />No written communications have been received. <br />Madam Chair Kings noted that she had received correspondence from the following: <br />• Delhi Neighborhood Association in opposition of the demolition. <br />• Jo Ann Ramirez, Broadway Bulldogs, requesting continuation of the public <br />hearing until after release of the draft EIR. <br />• Dee Reynolds, Wilshire Square, expressing concern regarding the impact on the <br />neighborhood. <br />• The Broadway Bulldogs, requesting that the developer perform a sense of size <br />survey. <br />Madam Chair Kings opened the public hearing. <br />Jo Ann Ramirez, Broadway Bulldogs, noted that she had joined the Planning <br />' Commission on their tour of the proposed One Broadway Plaza project and that it had <br />been evident the impact from the increased traffic would be considerable. Ms. Ramirez <br />requested that the City ask the developer to provide a sense of size demonstration. <br />Madam Chair Kings closed the public hearing. <br />Madam Chair Kings requested that staff investigate the feasibility of moving the Basler <br />Home to the Cabrillo Tennis Center, the Yale Apartments to the site on N.
