Orat Communications -Comments from the public. <br />(For matters not listed on the Agenda) <br />Mr. Ben Grapillo, property owner, commented that when he and others first learned of <br />the list they had some concerns regarding impacts to their property, however, most <br />owners are favorable to the list. <br />J <br />4. Comments from the Acting Executive Director. <br />Commissioner Kings informed Mr. Grapillo that one of the Commission's objectives was <br />to familiarize the public more of the benefits of structures being placed on the Register. <br />Mr. Kenneth Adams, apprised the Commission that Councilman Franklin had requested <br />a progress report on the Historic Resources Commission and staff would be preparing <br />the report in the near future. <br />5. Comments from staff. <br />Mr. Joseph Edwards, Principal Planner commented that: <br />• due to the conference in October, staff would be requesting adjournment to <br />Thursday, November 9, 2000 Commission meeting. <br />• staff would be conducting interviews for consultants and was anticipating <br />taking a recommendation to City Council in November. <br />6. Comments from the City Attorney. <br />' Ms. Cristine Shaw. Deputy City Attorney, clarified that a maker and a seconder of a <br />motion could vote against a motion. However, the maker of the motion could not <br />speak against the motion and the seconding of a motion was to allow discussion on <br />the item. In addition, she informed the Commission that all absences were unexcused <br />unless the Commission took an action to excuse the absences; that no motions were <br />needed if the absences were not going to be excused. <br />7.
