• Commented that he was distressed at the Commissions attendance. <br />• Commented that he was distressed at the Commissions attendance. <br />Commissioner Cribb <br />• Informed the Commission that the Planning Commission had recently reviewed an <br />issue concerning replacement windows in Henninger Park and that he believed the <br />Historic Commission should have a discussion regarding discouraging aluminum <br />windows in historic neighborhoods. Mr. Jeffry Rice, provided an overview of the <br />issues concerning the replacement windows and, informed the Commission that they <br />could make a recommendation to the Planning Commission. <br />' • Commented that the Orange County Courthouse was a significant building, designed <br />by a famous architect Richard Neutra, and he would like to consider the structure as <br />Landmark. <br />Commissioner Corwin <br />• Commented that the Commission has been prgmised another tour of the Masonic <br />Temple once the upgrades had been completled and requested staff inform the <br />Commission of the status of the tour. <br />• Commented that she was looking forward to the National Preservation Conference. <br />Commissioner Kinos <br />• Commented that she would like to reschedule the November 2000 Commission <br />meeting due to the National Preservation Conference and asked staff to add this <br />issue to the next agenda. <br />• Commented that a study session after the conference would be beneficial. <br />• Informed the Commission that she and Commissioner Chinn would be meeting with <br />staff to research standards and materials. <br />' Expressed her appreciation to staff for the notige concerning the homes located at <br />1120 South Cypress and 1236 West Santa Ana Boulevard. <br />• Apprised the Commission that two homes had been recently burned; one located at <br />700 East First Street, appeared to be an early 1900 structure and one at the 800 <br />block of Sycamore, a bungalow style, and she commented that she hoped that a <br />replacement structure could be constructed similar to the other homes in the <br />Henninger Park Neighborhood. <br />• Commented that she didn't believe staff was using the submittal checklist for reviews <br />and requested a copy of the checklist. <br />• Stated that she had requested a copy of the Secretary of Interior Standards and that <br />she believed it was important for each Commissioner to be familiar with the <br />standards and possibly include it in future training. <br />• Requested to know who reviewed the architecturbl specifications for adaptive re-use, <br />staff or the Commission. Ms. DeRosa indicated that staff reviewed the re-use and <br />made a recommendation to the Commission. Mls. Crane noted that that the review <br />also depended upon the status of the building, that the review could involve the <br />Building Department. Commissioner Kings further commented that it was important <br />for staff to be up to date on construction procedures for historical preservation. <br />7. Excuse of absences. <br />Motion to excuse the absences of Commissioners Brenes, Berry, Gartner, and <br />Bustamante. <br />MOTION: Chinn <br />SECOND: Cribb <br />After further discussions regarding the lack of Commissioner attendance, Commissioner <br />Cribb withdrew his second.
