APPLICATION <br />NO. 2008-42 TO PLACE THE PROPERTYh' LOCATED AT <br />600 EAST WASHINGTON STREET ~& 607 EAST <br />WELLINGTON STREET, SANTA A~A ON THE <br />HISTORICAL REGISTER AND APPROVING HISTORIC <br />REGISTER CATEGORIZATION NO. 20(b8-42 PLACING <br />SAID PROPERTY WITHIN THE LANDMARK CATEGORY <br />AK-09/XX/09 <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The Historic Resources Commission of the City of Santa Ana <br />hereby finds, determines and declares as follows: <br />A. On October 1, 2009, the Historic Resources Commission held a duly <br />• noticed public hearing for the placement on the Santa Ana Register of <br /> Historical Properties (Historic Resources Commission Application No. <br /> 2008-42) and categorization (Historic Resources Commission <br /> Categorization No. 2008-42) of the Santa Ana Community Hospital, <br /> located at 600 East Washington Street & 607 Easf Wellington Street, <br /> Santa Ana, California. <br />B. The Santa Ana Community Hospital is an architecturally significant <br /> building constructed in 1926 and a later wing in 1948. <br />C. The primary structure faces Washington Street and is a Mission/Spanish <br /> Colonial Revival and Classical Revival style. Character defining features <br /> include stucco walls, flat roof, and red the roofing material. The 1948 wing <br /> faces Wellington and is a Moderne/Art Moderne style, and features <br /> smooth stucco and casement windows. It possesses "unique architectural <br /> significance". <br />D. It is to be categorized as Landmark because of its "historical and cultural <br /> significance to the city" as Orange County's first and longest operating <br /> hospital. <br />E. The legal owner of the subject property is the Santa Ana Bartlett Care. <br />F.
