MEETING DATE: <br />JULY 3, 2006 <br />TITLE: <br />AGREEMENT WITH <br />NATIONAL CREDIT REPORTING <br />i ✓I <br />• IRECTOR <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />RECORDING SECRETARY USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ As Amended <br />CONTINUED TO <br />Direct the Authority General Counsel to prepare and authorize the <br />Executive Director to execute an agreement between the Housing Authority <br />of the City of Santa Ana and National Credit Reporting with compensation <br />not to exceed $25,000. <br />COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION <br />Recommended that the Housing Authority direct the Authority General <br />Counsel to prepare and authorize the Executive Director to execute an <br />agreement between the Housing Authority of the City of Santa Ana and <br />National Credit Reporting with compensation not to exceed $25,000. <br />By a vote of 6:0 (Yanez absent) at its Regular Meeting of June 20, 2006. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Housing Choice <br />Voucher rental assistance program depends upon complete and accurate <br />disclosure of clients' income sources, expenses, and criminal history. <br />HUD requires local Housing Authorities to screen all applicants for drug- <br />related and violent criminal activity and for lifetime Sex Offender <br />registration. National Credit Reporting has a proven history with the <br />Housing Authority and has provided reliable information in a timely <br />manner via its web -based service at a competitive cost. <br />
