Quarterly Report for <br />Housing Choice Voucher Program: <br />July 2006 - September 2006 <br />December 4, 2006 <br />Page 4 <br />Participating families pay a portion of their monthly rent based upon <br />their income and the payment standard for their unit. The Housing <br />Authority pays the difference between the tenant portion and the contract <br />rent. This payment is the Housing Assistance Payment (HAP). <br />The average HAP for July through September 2006 was $716 per unit. The <br />total HAP paid in July through September was $5,077,806. <br />Production <br />HQS Inspections <br />Each assisted unit must be <br />inspected at least annually to 210 <br />ensure it meets the Housing Quality 205 <br />Standards (HQS) in compliance with 200 <br />federal guide -lines. From July to 195 <br />September, a total of 585 190 <br />inspections were performed. Chart 185 <br />7 illustrates the number of 180 <br />inspections performed monthly since 175 <br />July 2006. 170 <br />165 <br />160 <br />Re-certifications/Interims <br />Each year, the Housing <br />400 <br />Authority must re -certify each <br />participating family to ensure <br />350 <br />compliance with program <br />300 <br />eligibility.
