RESOLUTION NO. 2011-004 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS UNDER THE <br />URBAN FORESTRY GRANT PROGRAM ENTITLED "AN URBAN <br />FOREST FOR EVERY CITY", AS PROVIDED THROUGH <br />PROPOSITIONS 40 AND 84 <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, <br />determines and declares as follows: <br />A. The people of the State of California State have enacted Propositions <br />40 and 84, which provide funds to the State of California and its <br />political subdivisions for urban forestry programs. <br />B. The State Department of Forestry and Fire Protection has been <br />delegated the responsibility for the administration of the program within <br />the State, setting up necessary procedures governing application by <br />local agencies and non-profit organizations under the program. <br />C. Said procedures established by the State Department of Forestry and <br />Fire Protection require the applicant to certify by resolution the <br />approval of the application before submission of said application to the <br />State. <br />D. If selected, the City of Santa Ana will enter into an agreement with the <br />State of California to carry out an urban forestry project for the planting <br />of new parkway trees in the Washington Square, Santa Ana Memorial <br />Park and Delhi neighborhoods (the "Project"). <br />Section 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby approves <br />the filing of an application for "PROPOSITION 40 and 84" urban forestry grant <br />program funds for the Project. <br />Section 3.
