7.2.2 After removing all bases, the contractor shall scrape /wire brush all <br />base post anchors and base inserts. This will help facilitate the <br />base removal and installation. <br />7.2.3 The Contractor shall rake /shovel loose material from high spots <br />back into low spots /worn areas on running paths, sliding zones, <br />and any other low spots /worn areas appearing on the field before <br />any watering or dragging shall take place <br />7.3 Home Plate Area/Batters Box Area Holes <br />7.3.1 Sweep/Rake away all loose brick dust. <br />7.3.2 Wet area until moist. <br />7.3.3 Scarify area (`s) [batters box hole(`s)] with shovel. This will help <br />the mix bind better. <br />7.3.4 In a 5 gallon bucket mix "mound mix" with water to desired <br />consistency. Do not use infield mix for this purpose. <br />7.3.5 Backfill "mound -mix" material into hole(`s). <br />7.3.6 Tamp the area firmly with steel tamp. <br />Note: The tamp will be most effective if you cover the <br />bottom with plastic. Tape the plastic to the tamp <br />handle. The plastic keeps the clay from sticking to <br />the tamp's bottom. <br />7.3.7 After tamping and compacting the "mound mix" covers areas with <br />infield brick dust. <br />7.4 Pitcher's Mound <br />7.4.1 Follow same procedure for repair of home plate/batters box area <br />utilizing dry "mound mix" for this purpose. Do not cover with <br />infield mix. <br />7.4.2 Add to the above the following: Rake all loose material from <br />bottom to top and cover with "Mound Mix ". <br />7.5 GBrick dustickdust Skinned Infield Areas <br />7.5.1 After raking/shoveling loose material from high spots back into <br />low spots/worn areas on running paths, sliding zones, and any <br />G7 0 bity7•i <br />
