Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to <br />execute an agreement with the Police Management Association regarding wages, hours, and <br />other terms and conditions of employment. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The City and the Police Management Association (PMA) recently completed contract <br />negotiations, resulting in a three-year contract extension to the FY 2004-10 Memorandum of <br />Understanding. This extension covers July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2013. <br />The provisions of this extended agreement are as follows: <br />1) Salary: 7/01/10-6/30/11 = 0% <br />7/01/11 - 6/30/12 = 3% <br />7/01/12-6/30/13 = 3.5% <br />2) Payment toward 3% at 50 Service Retirement Benefit: "Safety" employees shall contribute <br />an additional amount toward the City's "employer" rate as follows: <br />• July 1, 2011 = additional 1.0% for a total of 2.42% <br />• July 1 2012 = additional 1.0% for a total of 3.42% <br />3) Retirement Reopener: If the employer contribution rate for a fiscal year meets or exceeds <br />25%, then the provisions of Article 14.6 "Payment of 3% at 50 Service Retirement Benefit" <br />shall be reopened at the request of the City. <br />25E-1
