Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Authorize payment to JSI Telecom for an annual maintenance plan for the Police Department's <br />Communication Intercept Room in the amount not to exceed $16,605. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Police Department's electronic communications intercept room (Wire Room) provides the <br />capability to conduct approved telephone intercepts. The Wire Room is one of only a few in Orange <br />County and is an integral part of the City's Gang Task Force efforts with the Federal Bureau of <br />Investigation (FBI). As such, other municipal and federal agencies also rely on its intercept <br />capabilities. In order for the Wire Room to remain operational, an annual maintenance plan is <br />required to ensure effective on-going use and to maintain the necessary standards. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds are available in the Police Criminal Activities Contract Service - Professional account <br />(no.02614450-62300). <br />APPROVED AS TO FUNDS AND ACCOUNTS: <br />r°?=s <br />Paul M.
