TLJ 2/24/11 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2011- <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A SUB- <br />GRANT AWARD AGREEMENT AND ACCEPTING <br />ADDITIONAL GRANT AWARD FUNDS AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR THE CHIEF OF <br />POLICE TO APPROVE AN APPROPRIATION <br />ADJUSTMENT FOR THE ANTI-GANG INITIATIVE GRANT <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby, finds, determines and <br />declares as follows: <br />A. The California Office of Emergency Services (OES) established an Anti- <br />Gang Initiative Grant (Grant) and is responsible for implementing the <br />same. <br />B. The Grant provides funds to local police departments for overtime related <br />expenses related to enforcement of the Santa Nita Gang Injunction, which <br />will serve to positively impact the community by directly aiding in the <br />efforts to reduce gang activity. <br />C. The City of Santa Ana Police Department was selected to receive a 2006 <br />Anti-Gang Initiative Grant from OES in the amount of $52,430.00, which <br />was authorized by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana in Resolution <br />Number 2007-011. <br />D. The State of California Emergency Management Agency (EMA) has now <br />awarded additional funding in the amount of $24,000.00 for the Grant to <br />the City of Santa Ana Police Department under sub-grant award # US 10 <br />057948. <br />Section 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana does hereby authorize the City <br />Manager and the Chief of Police, or their designee(s), to execute and submit any <br />necessary documents, including but not limited to a sub-grant award agreement, which <br />may be necessary for the completion of the sub-grant with the State of California <br />Emergency Management Agency in the amount of $24,000.00. <br />55B-5
