Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Authorize submittal of the General Plan Housing Element Annual Progress Report to the State of <br />California Housing and Community Development (HCD). <br />DISCUSSION <br />The General Plan Housing Element is a comprehensive planning document designed to address <br />current and future housing needs for Santa Ana and surrounding region. The document includes the <br />City's housing vision to meet community needs through 2014. The housing vision is expressed in the <br />goals, policies and implementation programs as stated in the Housing Element. The purpose of the <br />Housing Element Annual Progress Report (Exhibit 1) is to describe the activities and accomplishments <br />made in 2010 to implement the City's housing vision. In particular, the report includes a summary of <br />Santa Ana's progress in meeting its share of the Regional Housing Needs Allocation (RHNA).
