Allocation of FY 2011-12 ESG Funds <br />March 21 , 201 1 <br />Page 2 <br />Fourteen proposals were submitted from thirteen organizations with funding requests totaling <br />$469,600. Proposals predominately sought funds to offset program administration, homeless <br />prevention, maintenance and operating costs. <br />On January 1 1 , 201 1 , an ad hoc committee (comprised of two commissioners from the Community <br />Redevelopment and Housing Commission, one representative from the Orange County's <br />Community Services-Homelessness Prevention Department and one City staff) conducted <br />applicant interviews to rate and rank the proposals using the following criteria: 1) community <br />need, 2) capacity to provide service, and 3) effective and efficient use of funds. A list of the <br />agencies submitting proposals, the evaluation panel rating, the grant amount for the present year, <br />the requested amount of funding for FY 2011-2012, and the recommended funding for FY 2011- <br />2012 is provided in Exhibit 1.
