Award a contract to Hillcrest Contracting, the lowest responsible bidder, in accordance with <br />unit bid prices in the estimated amount of $1,215,538.25 for construction of Bristol/Warner <br />intersection widening. <br />2. Approve a Funding Analysis with a total estimated construction cost of $1,519,400. <br />DISCUSSION <br />Bristol Street at Warner Avenue is a part of the Bristol Street Specific Plan to widen from Warner <br />Avenue to 17th Street (Exhibit 1). Due to congested traffic, this project will provide dual <br />northbound and southbound left turn lanes and a westbound right turn lane. With these <br />improvements, the intersection is expected to improve traffic flow. <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on January 28 and 31, 2011 and bids were opened on <br />March 3, 2011.
