Set Public Hearing <br />For <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Adopt a resolution approving the application for grant funds for the Community-Based <br />Transportation Planning Grant Program through the California Department of Transportation, <br />Division of Transportation Planning. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The State of California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) issued a call for Community- <br />Based Transportation Planning (CBTP) project applications for Fiscal year 2011-2012. CBTP is <br />a State-funded program which provides funds for projects that integrate transportation, land-use <br />planning, and community values to support livable communities. This program is administered <br />by the Office of Community Planning in Caltrans Division of Transportation Planning. <br />In response to this call, staff is requesting authorization to prepare and submit a grant <br />application to support the City's transportation and mobility goals. The grant application will <br />focus on preparing a bikeway and pedestrian plan. The resolution authorizing the request for <br />funding is required as part of the application. The application deadline is March 30, 2011. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />Per Section 15061(b)(3) of the California Environmental Quality Act, this action is exempt from <br />further review as there is no potential for any environmental impact. <br />55B-1
