The project is 40 percent complete with <br />79 percent of the contingency exhausted. <br />The major changes that expended the contingency are: the replacement of a 24 -inch corroded <br />storm drain pipe at a cost of $68,000, the relocation and resizing of a precast concrete vault at a <br />cost of $24,231, and the relocation of two back-flow devices at a cost of $3,680. Additionally, there <br />are several major changes outstanding such as a bypass for a broken 16 -inch water valve and the <br />relocation of an existing Metropolitan Water District metering station at an estimated combined cost <br />of $101,500. With the outstanding changes and the unforeseen conditions that are associated <br />with construction of a street widening project and underground utility work, staff recommends <br />increasing the contingency by $250,000. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />This is no environmental impact associated with this action. <br />
