The Historic Resources Commission of the City of Santa Ana <br />hereby finds, determines and declares as follows: <br />A. On October 2, 2008, the Historic Resources Commission held a duly <br />noticed public hearing for the placement on the Santa Ana Register of <br />Historical Properties (Historic Resources Commission Application No. <br />2008-26) and categorization (Historic Resources Commission <br />Categorization No. 2008-26) of the McBride House, located at 2403 North <br />Riverside Drive, Santa Ana. <br />B. The McBride House, constructed in 1936, is a type of Ranch style <br />architecture with a Proto-Ranch style variant, and exhibits a U-shaped <br />plan with shallow overhanging eaves and a combination of rusticated brick <br />and smooth stucco as exterior cladding materials. <br />C. This home qualifies for listing on the Santa Ana Register of Historical <br />Properties and is eligible for categorization as Contributive because it is a <br />"good example of period architecture" and "contributes to the overall <br />character and history" of Santa Ana. <br />D. Character defining features of this house include the massing, low pitched <br />roof, and square wood front door. <br />E. The legal owner of the subject property is John. L. Thurman. <br />F. The legal description for the subject property is attached hereto as Exhibit <br />A and incorporated by this reference as though fully set forth herein. <br />G.
