EXEMPT FROM FEES PURSUANT <br />TO GOVERNMENT CODE § 6103 <br />LJ <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2007-26 <br />KO -10/25/07 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE HISTORIC RESOURCES <br />COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING <br />HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION APPLICATION <br />NO. 2007-19 TO PLACE THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT <br />2128 NORTH GREENLEAF STREET, SANTA ANA ON THE <br />HISTORICAL REGISTER AND APPROVING HISTORIC <br />REGISTER CATEGORIZATION NO. 2007-19 PLACING <br />SAID PROPERTY WITHIN THE CONTRIBUTIVE <br />CATEGORY <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The Historic Resources Commission of the City of Santa Ana <br />hereby finds, determines and declares as follows: <br />• A. On October 4, 2007, the Historic Resources Commission held a duly <br />noticed public hearing for the placement on the Santa Ana Register of <br />Historical Properties (Historic Resources Commission Application No. <br />2007-19) and categorization (Historic Resources Commission <br />Categorization No. 2007-19) of the Markel House, located at 2128 North <br />Greenleaf Street, Santa Ana. Due to a lack of quorum for this agenda <br />item, the public hearing was continued to November 1, 2007. <br />B. On November 1, 2007, the Historic Resources Commission held a duly <br />noticed public hearing for the placement on the Santa Ana Register of <br />Historical Properties (Historic Resources Commission Application No. <br />2007-19) and categorization (Historic Resources Commission <br />Categorization No. 2007-19) of the Markel House, located at 2128 North <br />Greenleaf Street, Santa Ana. <br />C. The Markel House was constructed in 1935 and is an example of Spanish <br />Colonial Revival bungalow style architecture. <br />D. It qualifies for listing on the Santa Ana Register of Historical Properties as <br />Contributive. This one story home qualifies for designation because it <br />"contributes to the overall character and history" of Santa Ana, and is a <br />"good example of period architecture." <br />E. Character defining features of this house include exterior stucco finish, <br />circular the vents piercing the gable apex, and arched entry. <br />• F.
